Nová Vlna ou The Czechoslovak New Wave is a term used for the Czechoslovak filmmakers who started making movies in the 1960s. The films touched on themes which for earlier film makers in the communist countries had rarely managed to avoid the objections of the censor. Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil in São Paulo hosted a festival for showing these movies.
